The awareness of Mental Health within the workplace is on the rise and it’s a topic many of our members feel needs further discussion and exploration.

Practicing employment law solicitor and leading mental health advocate Jodie Hill will be joining us as we explore mental health within our industry, why it matters, the key drivers of mental health and what you can do to support your team.

The session will incorporate the following:

  • Our Minds Matter - why mental health matters in the workplace and why organisations need to look beneath the “tip of the iceberg” of common presenting issues to address mental health amongst employees
  • The key drivers of mental health - the factors which are driving staff mental wellbeing based on Concilio Health’s research and our data from multiple sectors
  • Brief overview of common mental health problems and how they may present in a workplace context
  • When the warning lights come on – how to identify a colleague in difficulty and confidently initiate a supportive conversation
  • Ways of working that promote optimal mental health in the workplace and our dashboard of wellbeing
  • Recognising the four main types of stress and how to develop strategies to manage them
  • How to foster resilient thinking strategies and help staff to develop a personal mental health and wellbeing plan
  • Implementing a positive mental health policy in your organisation
  • Reasonable adjustments, what are they and when do they arise
  • When does a mental health condition become a disability under the Equality and what do we do when we know this?

Below are some of the key takeaways our members will benefit from:

'I attended the Mental Health Seminar and found it really useful. Working in a high stress level industry, staff well being needs to be a priority. This is a great start on creating policies, training and understanding as a Business owner what our responsibilities are'. - Debbie Willsmer, Willsmer Wagg
