Congratulations to The Marketing Store team who won this year’s Dragon Boat Race, held at Dorney Lake, Windsor on Wednesday 7 July. The Marketing Store had tough competition from 8 teams of 11 throughout the day. They were competing against Listawood and joint supplier team BIC and High Profile in the final race, both teams fought for a victorious win but The Marketing Store scooped up the trophy, winning by seconds.
100 industry guests participated at the event and a great day was had by all. Other teams included Will International, Senator Pens, Sourcing City, United Brands of Scandinavia and Cyan Group.
The event was attended by a good proportion and representation of Suppliers and Distributors. The boat race is a valuable afternoon out of the office, it provides the right balance between team building, fun, competition and business networking. Richard Hope Jones from High Profile comments“The event is by far the best way for meeting and getting to know others within our industry.”

“What a fantastic day, the bpma team were delighted to see everyone enjoy themselves, the buzz and atmosphere through the day was amazing. Kelly Hughes,Team Captain for The Marketing Store comments “This was our second year entering the competition and once again it was a fantastic day! As a company it is in a excellent way to build team morale amongst colleagues out of the office and have fun at the same time, the organisation and running of the day is first class. Especially the lovely bbq at the end of the day. Thanks again, we will be back next year to defend our title!”
''Many thanks for another great event this year, the third time we have participated and it was brilliant fun as always! Lovely to see so many familiar faces enjoying themselves and going all out for victory. I have to say, the food this year was very good too. Already looking forward to next year, though i think i need to get down the gym before then!'' commented Lawrence Angelow, Advantage Group International.

Michelle Somerville, Team Captain for the BIC and High Profile team says “I just wanted to thank you for organising a fantastic event yesterday that BIC were very happy to attend. It was made all the sweeter by coming 2nd overall! I found a competitive side to myself I did not know existed.”
Such positive feedback from the participants supports the trade associations need and commitment to offer such networking opportunities at events and seminars to its growing membership.
