The British Promotional Merchandise Association (bpma) has appointed Sue Tugman, owner and managing director of Brunel Promotions, a major industry supplier of promotional and advertising products, as a board director.
Sue’s remit on the bpma board will be compliance and complaints.
Sue’s career began within the international marketing department of Unilever in the late ‘70s and then at Nutricia.
Sue then went on to join Brunel Promotions in 1986 as marketing manager and after a few years acquired the company through a management buy-out. She currently heads a team of 70 full-time employees. Sue, on behalf of Brunel Promotions, was named Employer of the Industry at the 2007 bpma Awards.
Sue commented: “The bpma has raised its profile considerably in the last 12 to 18 months and plays an important role in driving high standards within the industry. The year ahead brings some tough challenges and highlights the importance that education and training has to play in ensuring that the UK promotional merchandise industry remains competitive. I am confident that the industry can make even greater strides with the support of the bpma and I am delighted to represent fellow members in my capacity as a board director.”
On Sue Tugman’s appointment, Gill Thorpe, bpma Chair, commented:
Sue is highly respected as one of this industry’s most senior operators. After three decades in promotional marketing, she has a wealth of knowledge and expertise on industry issues and standards. Sue will be a tremendous asset to the Board.”
