Open to all members – Member Orientation Seminar

In this tough economic climate, many people like to know what exactly they gain in return for their membership. The bpma offer a FREE Orientation seminar for members. This seminar aims to cover the fundamental aspects of the Promotional Industry and is packed full of sales and marketing tips to help your business grow. This seminar also aims to ensure members are taking full advantage of all the benefits and services we have to offer on your level of membership.

Never has this seminar been more popular. The last seminar saw a record number of members attend. With 25 delegates attending at our London address, the seminar was led by Gordon Glenister, Director General of the bpma. Here are some of the topics he covers:
Effective Sales and Marketing strategy – lead generation, working with distributors and end users. Using websites, adverts, exhibitions, shows you key markets, catalogue groups, industry challenges and how to develop your own website.
• Systems & Financial Awareness - Back office systems, software programs, networking, financial tips and customer service.
• Procurement - Sourcing and buying better and looking after and retaining staff
• Exporting
• Member benefits – Discounts and how you can save money
• Dates for your Diary
• Action Plan and things that can go wrong
• Demonstration of NEW Sourcing Site

Here is what previous attendees have had to say:

“I came away from Friday's seminar inspired, informed, engaged and with a huge sense of support from the BPMA - it gave me so much more than I was expecting! And it was fun to meet other new members and share experiences and even the possibility of doing business together.
It was so much more than just a 'top tips' seminar - the BPMA really is an invaluable source of knowledge about the promotional merchandise industry, it brings experience and expertise one cannot get from working on one's own business in isolation, gives business insight, support and guidance for new business owners or developers. A course of this nature at a local government seminar would cost the equivalent of your membership fee - definitely worth its weight in gold! And the advice of such an experience industry body is priceless.

“We found the BPMA New Members seminar very helpful indeed. I would recommend it to anyone new to the industry or new to business as it covers so many basic areas and allows interaction with more experienced companies represented at the seminar. For those who have been in the business for some time I would still recommend it for two reasons.
Firstly, there will probably be some new ideas or fresh ways of doing things.
Secondly, there may be an element of repeating the obvious. Fine but if you are not doing it and it applies to your business then maybe it is a wake-up call to do something about it.
I see this as part of the new and dynamic approach being taken by the BPMA to raise awareness and standards in our industry.”
