KeepMe Bags’ range of promotional products has radically expanded in the last couple of years. Clients can now choose from paper bags, kraft bags, jute bags, cotton bags, canvas bags and non-woven pp bags. They can choose the shape, the colour and the artwork. And, depending on the product they select, they can even pick from a range of additional extras like metal eyelets, ribbon handles, upmarket embossing and printing of the bag interior.
Naturally then, the need to simplify and streamline the company’s website has become a vital element in making the buying process as efficient and informative as possible. Steve Anderson, joint MD of KeepMe Bags, explains: “Every business is different, so we need to offer genuine variety and a range of customising options to help encompass that. But while we provide this flexibility, we need to guard against complication and that’s exactly what the website is all about. It’s a common ground that allows us and the client to communicate better. The client can know nothing at all about promotional bags but with a quick look at the website and a phone call to us, he can discuss his options from a better informed position.”
To that end, the new site is split into three basic product sections - the stock range, the custom range and the box range. The browser just clicks on the kind of bag he is interested in and the size and colour options are laid out in plain English. There is also a bullet point breakdown of data vital to the buying process like lead times, minimum order volumes and explanations of what is included in the quoted price.
Having picked a bag material, the client can then use the site to browse the sizes and shapes, as well as the colours and print areas. To help the process along, he can even request a sample bag to help him see exactly how the finished item will look and feel. If he then wishes to go ahead with an order, he sends his artwork to KeepMe and the team produces a design for him to approve before the bags are printed and delivered.
Despite the efficiency of the new website, Mr Anderson is keen to point out that it is not a replacement for human support: “We still provide a personal service, with a dedicated in-house design team to help walk our clients through the process. But this new site is a response to our customers’ demands for information at their fingertips. What we’ve essentially done here is make quite an involved process very simple. We’ve established a dual system of online information and in-house support that is not only very efficient but also great fun for our clients to use.”
As well as being a purchasing tool, the new website is also a platform for understanding more about what makes modern re-useable bags so good. Have you ever wondered how the bags are put together? Have you ever wondered where the cotton comes from? Or why the paper option is superior to plastic? It’s all made plain on the new site as Mr Anderson explains: “We’re very proud of our re-useable bags and we want people to know why they’re so special. Yes, you can specify your requirements, get samples and place an order. But more importantly, you can see exactly what the KeepMe Bags ethos is all about and know exactly what it is you are buying. With that kind of information at their disposal, I am convinced our client’s appreciation for KeepMe’s re-useable bags will reach new heights.”
