James Norman

It was with great sadness that I heard on Tuesday the news of James Norman’s death.  James had been an integral part of this business since 1984, and I have had the privilege of working with him for the last 7 years.  As you are all aware James was diagnosed with cancer in late 2009 and despite undergoing radiotherapy and starting a course of chemotherapy early this year the disease has progressed very rapidly, resulting in his death yesterday morning.  James was at home with his family when he died and his youngest son Luke tells me that he was mostly pain free at the end.

I am sure that you will join me in remembering James with fondness, humour and admiration.

His family will be very much in all of our thoughts over the comings weeks and months.  If you wish to contact them please let me know and I will be happy to provide their address at home.

I have been advised that the funeral will be held next week, but that it is to be a private service for the family.  A service of thanksgiving will be arranged by them in due course and I am sure that many of you will wish to attend.  If so, please email me at anna@michaelvirdenglass.co.uk and I will ensure that I include you in details of arrangements for this service.

We have opened a book of condolence, which we will forward to James’ family in due course.  If you have special memories of James that you would like to share with his family, or any message for them, again please email me and I will ensure that your message is included in the book before we send it to the family.
