We are faced with an increasing amount of legislation from both within the UK and from the EU.
The news in this section covers both that which affects your business as well as that which affects the promotional merchandise industry as a whole. Members can find more specific information on Personnel and Health and Safety issues in MyBPMA.
As far as the industry is concerned in 2006 both RoHS and WEEE were enacted and in 2007 The Gambling Act will become law. And we mustn’t forget the Olympics either! On a broader front in 2006 there were changes to pensions legislation, age discrimination and TUPE rules. In 2007 legislation will include a smoking ban in enclosesd spaces and maternity and adoption pay will be extended from six to nine months.
