LSi Limited have done it again – and successfully held “The Big Promo Gift Show” again in Leeds, and as promised 12 months ago , this years show was bigger and better than last year!
On Tuesday night a Supplier Dinner was held at The Royal Armouries for 140 guests, who were treated to a Samurai warrior interpretation before a 4 course meal . After Dinner entertainment was provided by Nobby Stiles MBE ( who recalled his many memories of his footballing career including his World Cup win), Gary Marshall an excellent local comedian and MC Malcolm Lord.

On Wednesday 26th May , 296 of Lsi’s leading customers , were able to meet face to face with 66 of the Uk’s leading merchandise suppliers from all four corners of the country, gaining a valuable insight into whats new , along with displays and explanations of the more tried and tested merchandise. A total of 1970 enquiry sheets were taken on the day , an increase of 600 on last year , which the LSi staff are busy working through to convert into orders.
The event which opened at 9:30am , also boasted 5 marketing seminars held by Cliff Quicksell , who jetted in from the US especially for the occasion. These proved extremely popular and Cliffs motivational and inspirational message wasn’t lost on the 100 or so clients who attended the workshops.
LSi also sets itself apart from other shows, by offering light hearted entertainment at lunchtime, last year it was a Michael Jackson lookalike , this year with the theme of the world cup , Lsi welcomed two England football legends Nobby Stiles MBE , and Peter Shilton OBE. The two legends were literally mobbed as every customer was given a commemorative football which they duly signed in the Legends Corner area.
Lloyd Simpson commented “ to have spent a day in the presence of these two greats was amazing enough , but having seen them greet every customer with a smile , indulge in conversation and sign every piece of memorabilia , photo and football put in front of them , shows exactly what gentleman they are , and extremely deserving of the respect visitors gave them. They were so popular we had to extend autograph signing time by one hour to accommodate the line that had formed.”

Lsi also entered the Guinness Book of Records albeit courtesy of John Farnworth – the leading freestyle footballer who broke his own world record for “The most amount of football roles across the forehead! Which stood at 533 prior to the show. John surpassed his previous record and set a New World Record of 590 in front of an extremely supportive crowd of around 150 people who witnessedthis extraordinary talent.
Finally the day was rounded off in style with customers being given the opportunity to take a penalty against Peter Shilton, over 80 people took part with the winner receiving a framed 1966 world cup winners replica shirt signed by 9 of the winning team.
As the stands were broken down on what seemed like another satisfying day for the LSi staff , suppliers and customers alike emailed words of congratulations to the LSi offices on yet another outstanding show. “By keeping the event light hearted and enjoyable , we hope to have further cemented relationships with our customers, but more importantly formed stronger links with our supply partners without their support we would not be able to deliver such a show. A Big thanks to all those who attended!”
